Following on from a successful event last year, this conference again brings together experts from Quantum Advisory and Blake Morgan to provide you the latest thinking on a wide range of subjects that continue to have an impact across all stakeholders involved with occupational pension schemes.
The conference will last for around 2 hours followed by a buffet lunch. It will cover a few key themes, including looking at what has happened both economically and politically over the last 18 months and the impact this had on UK pension schemes. We will also look ahead to changes that we know are going to be introduced, and the options for dealing with these changes.
If you would like to attend, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
The agenda and timings are as follows:
|9:30am||Arrival – registration and tea/coffee|
|Adrian Lamb, Blake Morgan
Adrian will set the scene – looking back over the last 18 months or so at some key moments and events.
Stuart Price, Quantum Advisory
Stuart will provide his insight into the high profile, BHS, Tata Steel and Hoover pension stories and what are the resulting consequences for UK pension schemes. Stuart will also comment on an unexpected twist from recent mortality analysis that shows that we may not be living as long as we previously expected and why there has been a dramatic increase in the number of transfers out of defined benefit schemes. Finally, Stuart will provide his thoughts on the government’s impending review of auto enrolment and what he expects is likely to change.
Ron Burgess and Rupert Graham-Evans, Blake Morgan
Ron and Rupert will look at the developing legal and regulatory landscape – with court cases continuing to impact on schemes, proposed strengthening of tPR powers, and some indications of a more interventionist approach from the regulators, and also General Data Protection Regulation which comes into force next year.
Amanda Burdge, Quantum Advisory
Amanda will look at the latest developments on asset management and advice for both defined benefit and defined contribution arrangements, including the impact of the FCA review, latest developments on LDI strategies and tools, including accessibility for smaller schemes.
