The importance of Environmental Social and Governance issues for pension schemes

At Quantum Advisory we have always taken Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) issues seriously. We firmly believe that well run companies will have the best opportunities to produce long-term sustainable returns for our clients. For these reasons we continue to integrate ESG into our manager research and selection.

In 2017 we signed up to the Association of Member Nominated Trustees and the UK Sustainable Investment and Finance Association’s initiative to back key guidance on the Pensions Regulator’s expectation that pension funds will consider ESG factors in investment decision making.

In 2019 the CFA Society of the United Kingdom launched its Certificate in ESG Investing to reflect the importance of considering ESG issues in every aspect of investment advice. We were delighted when Jayna Bhullar, Investment Consultant at Quantum Advisory, successfully passed the exam and completed the Diploma in Investment Management (ESG).

Jayna said “I was very pleased to complete the qualification and to be amongst the first advisers in the UK to have done so. The investment landscape has changed, and it is therefore very important to deepen our knowledge of this area to ensure we can provide our clients with the support they need to achieve their goals.

This not only includes attaining the Diploma in Investment Management (ESG), but continually researching developments and products within the sustainable universe and working with providers to build offerings and improve reporting transparency for our clients. We all have a part to play in making the world a more sustainable place and we are very committed to driving this where we can.”
