Vacancies – Pensions Administration (Cardiff & Amersham)

We have various roles currently available in our Pensions Administration teams based in Cardiff and Amersham.

You will be part of the team working with our growing client base. You will ensure Quantum continues to deliver a first-class administration service to our portfolio of clients as well as maintaining excellent levels of service for our scheme members.

Assistant Pensions Administrator

You will assist with the day-to-day administration of pension schemes. You will be working as part of a team of more experienced administrators/consultants to deal with enquiries from scheme members and clients, financial advisers, employers and HMRC.

In this broad role responsibilities will include answering queries by phone, letter and email,

performing manual calculations of pension benefits, running automated systems calculations, arranging the payment of member benefits, assisting the team with project related work and developing knowledge of pensions and awareness of client requirements.

Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge:

  • Educated to A’ Level or Degree or equivalent standard
  • Good numerical skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Good communication skills
  • An enthusiastic and flexible approach to work
  • Willing to commence study towards a relevant pensions qualification

 

Pensions Administrator

You will be handling the day-to-day administration of a portfolio of client pension schemes. The schemes will vary in size and will include both Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution arrangements.

Responsibilities will include: performing manual calculations of pension benefits, running automated systems calculations, arranging the payment of member benefits, processing emails, letters and reports participating in/running ad hoc projects/exercises, keeping up to date with technical/scheme changes and mentoring more junior members of staff.

Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge:

  • Attained a relevant professional qualification (or be working towards one)
  • Previous experience of Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution pension arrangements
  • Good knowledge of current pensions legislation and framework
  • Good numerical skills

Senior Pensions Administrator

Reporting directly to the Team Leader, your will provide a full administration service to a large and varied portfolio of clients. Typical duties will involve calculating member benefits, managing annual projects through to completion (benefit statements, renewals, pension increases and stewardship reports) and ad hoc projects, assisting the team with complex individual case work, checking, authorising work and monitoring SLAs. You will also seek ways to improve processes and procedures, potentially participate in new business activities, and maintain an up to date knowledge of technical and legislative developments within the industry.

In addition, you will work closely with the team leader in the management of the team, delegating work, assisting with appraisals and help manage the day to day running of junior team members.

Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge:

  • Completion of a relevant professional qualification
  • Extensive experience at a similar level, ideally with another third party administrator
  • Good knowledge of current pensions legislation and framework
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Team Leader

You will lead a team of administrators and support the Head of Administration to ensure the effective administration of clients’ pension schemes on a day-to-day basis and the management of the ongoing relationship and service delivery to the client.

You will be responsible for the line management of the team, workflow allocation, forging strong working relationships with internal and external teams, conducting internal audits to ensure retention of external accreditations, assisting the team with complex individual case work, checking and authorising work and monitoring SLAs. You will also seek ways to improve processes and procedures, participate in new business activities, carry out annual appraisals of the team and assist with the recruitment, induction and training of new members of the team. You will regularly assess your team members’ achievements against objectives and carry out performance and development reviews.

Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge:

  • Completion of a relevant professional qualification
  • Excellent understanding of third party pension administration
  • First class people management and client relationship skills
  • Proven background in managing and developing a team of administrators
  • Strong motivator, capable of getting the maximum efficiency from your team of administrators

Pensions Consultant

Qualifications and Skills

We are looking for candidates with a minimum of 2 years’ experience working within a pension consultancy environment. You will have some client management experience (in a supporting role) and possess a good technical knowledge of pensions.

Candidates need to be qualified or working towards the Advanced Diploma in Retirement Provision (APMI).

Role

You will be working as part of a team of experienced consultants in all areas of pension consulting work for corporate and trustee clients, supporting the delivery of advice on the design, funding, administration and communication of pension schemes; helping clients manage a variety of benefit related risks; guiding clients when formulating the shape of their future pension provision and assisting with the delivery of innovative solutions.

 

Senior Pensions Administrator

Qualifications and Skills

We are looking for experienced candidates, with around 5 years’ plus experience in a third-party administrator or an in-house pensions department, who have a strong technical understanding of DB & DC pension schemes.

You will have obtained professional pension administration qualifications and may be working towards further PMI or CII qualifications.

You will have excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and an aptitude for delivering over and above what is expected.  You will also need to demonstrate exceptional communication skills and be a good team player.

Role

You will be part of the Administration team working with our growing client base and dealing with enquiries from scheme members, trustees, financial advisers, employers, and others. You will ensure Quantum continues to deliver a first-class administration service to our portfolio of clients as well as maintaining excellent levels of service for our scheme members.

Some of the main duties include carrying out and checking member calculations, scheme event administration adhering to the required processes and procedures and completing tasks and actions within any service agreement requirements. You will also support the Team Leaders/Managers and Head of Administration by identifying and recommending staff training needs and carry out appropriate training as required.

You will also assist with a wide variety of complex and controversial administration issues, support consultants in the preparation of company/trustee meeting papers and ensure all aspects of our pensions administration are compliant and meet legal, HMRC and pension regulatory requirements.

Additional duties include identifying areas for improvement and suggesting what changes may be appropriate, and assisting the Team Leaders with pension administration workflow to ensure the efficient daily operation of pension administration.

You will be a graduate (preferably with maths, accounting degree)

We are looking for candidates who display a good range of interpersonal skills, whose strengths are their organisation skills, attention to detail and an aptitude for delivering over and above what is expected.

Role

You will be part of the finance team working on our growing client base to deliver accounting and financial services to clients both internal and external, with a view to you taking increasing responsibility for tasks under the mentoring of more senior members of the team.

You will assist in the preparation of pension scheme accounts and liaise with auditors and assist with company accounting tasks such as posting invoices, preparing month end tasks.
